【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverswrought,microalloyedcarbonsteelforgingsforindustrialuse.Microalloyedsteelsdeveloptheirpropertiesbytheadditionofsmallamountsofmicroalloyingelementssuchasvanadium,columbium,titanium,ormolybdenum.Thepropertiesmaybeinfluencedalsobycontrolofthehotworkingprocessandtemperatureandbycontrolofthesubsequentcoolingrate.1.2Theforgingsshallbefurnishedtochemicalcompositionandmechanicalpropertyrequirementsasspecifiedherein.Chemicalcompositionisbasedonstandardcarbonsteelgradesmodifiedtoincludemicroalloyingelements.Strengthlevelisspecifiedbasedondesiredmechanicalpropertiesintheforgings.Dependingontheforgingprocess,differentstrengthclassesmaybeattainablefromasinglechemicalcomposition.Conversely,mechanicalpropertiesofagivenstrengthclassmaybeachievedusingdifferentchemicalcompositions.Themanufacturershouldbeconsultedifdevelopmentofchemicalcompositionisnecessary.1.3Forthepurposeofthisspecification,forgingswithmaximumsectionthicknessof4in.[100mm]aretobeconsidered.1.4SupplementaryRequirementsS1toS8areprovidedforusewhenadditionalcontrolsorrequirementsaredesired.Theseshallapplyonlywhenspecifiedonthepurchaseorder.1.5Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSI(metric)unitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetextandtables,SIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththisspecification.1.6Unlesstheorderspecifiestheapplicable"M"specificationdesignation,thematerialshallbefurnishedtotheinch-poundunits.
