【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtoprovidealaboratoryproceduretomeasurechangesinthereleaseratesofsolventsolubletin(tributyl-andtriphenyltin)thatoccurduringaperiodofimmersionunderspecifiedconditionsofconstanttemperature,pH,salinity,andlowheavy-metalconcentrationsinthesurroundingseawater.Quantitativemeasurementofthereleaserateisnecessarytohelpinselectionofmaterials,inprovidingqualityassurance,andinunderstandingtheperformancemechanism.Thistestmethodservesonlyasaguidefororganotinreleaseratesinservice.Organotinreleaseratesofantifouling(AF)paintsystemsinservicecanvaryoverthelifeofthecoatingsystemdependingontheformulationandtheenvironment.Differencesinberthinglocations,operatingschedules,lengthofservice,conditionofpaint-filmsurface,temperature,pH,andsalinitycanaffectresults,Resultsobtainedmaynotnecessarilyreflectactualtributyltinreleaseratesthatwilloccurinservice,butprovidereliablecomparisonsofthereleaseratecharacteristicsofdifferentantifoulingformulations.Thistestmethodwillservetocharacterizetheearlyreleaseratepattern,aswellasestimatethesteadystaterelease,oftributyltinfrombothself-polishingcopolymerandfree-associationantifoulingpaints.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationoftherateatwhichorganotinexpressedastributyltin(TBT)isreleasedfromanantifouling(AF)coatinginsyntheticseawaterusinggraphitefurnaceatomicabsorptionspectrophotometry(GF-AAS).Thisdoesnotexcludetheuseofotheranalyticalmethodologyformeasurementoforganotininseawatersuchasgaschromatography.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
